Diagnosis - Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma (middle lobe of right lung)
OVERVIEW
- Specimen #1 - "red-tan soft tissue measuring in aggregate 1.4 x 0.7 x 0.2cm"
- Specimen #2 - "pink-tan soft tissue measuring in aggregate 1.5 x 0.8 x 0.3cm"
- Specimen #3 - "pink-tan soft tissue measuring aggregate 1.0 x 1.0 x 0.4 cm"
- Note: "The majority of the tumor in this sampling consists of cysts with scattered small foci of intermediate cells. There is no significant mitotic activity, areas of keratinization or necrosis. There is a background of dense stromal hyalinization. The adequacy of excision cannot be histologically assessed. The tumor is present at multiple cauterized edges."
